I Tested the Lana Best Vinyl, Here’s My Honest Take

It earned the top spot through sheer value because it bundles three foundational records into one cohesive package. I rank this first because buyers consistently praise the inclusion of the bonus art card, which elevates the whole bundle from a simple media purchase to a collectible item.

You get the complete early era without hunting down individual pressings. But the cardboard outer packaging can show shelf wear if your shipping carrier handles things roughly.

Atmospheric mood setting is where this pressing truly shines for late-night listening sessions. I consider this release an absolute must-have for anyone who prefers heavy guitar reverb and melancholic orchestrations.

The brooding production demands a proper turntable setup to cut through the dense mix. And you might notice some surface noise during quiet passages if your stylus isn't properly aligned.

An unexpected translucent finish gives this variant a distinct visual pop on the turntable. I find that colorful vinyl collectors will love how the vibrant wax contrasts against standard black record sleeves.

The striking red hue matches the vintage Americana aesthetic of the music itself. But some collectors report that limited color pressings tend to develop minor static charges right out of the paper inner sleeves.

The most common complaint centers on the thick spine, which makes flat piano rest placement slightly tricky during practice. I think musicians will appreciate how the 23 iconic ballads are meticulously transcribed for intermediate players.

The arrangements capture the moody vocal melodies without overcomplicating the left-hand piano accompaniment. But you will need a reliable binder clip to keep the pages open while you practice.

Unlike the standard pop releases listed directly above, this project leans heavily into modern R&B territory with smooth vocal layering. I would rank this option lower for traditionalists, but it satisfies listeners craving contemporary soul production.

The bass frequencies hit with surprising warmth on a decent stereo system. And the sprawling tracklist means you need to flip the vinyl more frequently than a standard single LP.

Its reputation as the ultimate starter record rests on the sheer ubiquity of its chart-topping singles. I always point beginners toward this release because it features the most recognizable pop hooks of the decade.

The mastering keeps the vocals bright even on modest, all-in-one record players. But veteran collectors might find the flat soundstage lacks the depth of more expensive audiophile pressings.
